Dilan Wickrema, Editor-in-Chief
Dilan Wickrema is a fourth-year evening student at George Mason University. Dilan graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. and M.A. before attending law school. In 2016, after completing an M.A., Dilan was appointed as a Presidential Management Fellow to the U.S. Department of Commerce. Currently, Dilan works at the U.S. Department of State.
Michelle Gruber, Executive Editor
Michelle Gruber is the Executive Editor of the National Security Law Journal. She graduated from Hofstra University with degrees in Criminology, Russian, and Political Science. While in law school, Michelle has interned with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Eurasian Organized Crime Squad and the U.S. Office of Special Counsel’s Disclosure Unit. She will also be interning with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Office of Chief Counsel during Summer 2021, and with the Department of Justice’s Narcotic and Dangerous Drug Section during the Fall 2021 semester. Michelle’s legal interests include national security and criminal law. Her student Comment will be published in an upcoming NSLJ volume. Michelle is originally from New Jersey and enjoys cooking, playing board games, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.
Alexis Tellerd, Managing Editor
Alexis Tellerd is the Managing Editor of the National Security Law Journal. She graduated from High Point University with a degree in Finance and minor in Economics. Alexis has interned with the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, and the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement. She will be joining the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s Pathways Program this May. Alexis’ legal interests revolve around financial law, specifically FinTech and securities. Her Comment on cryptocurrency regulation will be published in an upcoming NSLJ issue. Alexis is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Megan Huppee, Senior Articles Editor
Megan is the Senior Articles Editor for the National Security Law Journal. She graduated from Tennessee State University with a B.A. in Economics and Finance. During law school, Megan has interned at the General Services Administration and Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities. Additionally, Megan is a Student Advisor for the Mason Veterans and Service members Legal Clinic at the Antonin Scalia Law School. She will be interning at the Department of Defense, Office of Inspector General throughout the next Summer, Fall, and Spring Semesters.
Lauren Gilman, Senior Notes Editor
Lauren graduated with a B.S. in political science and philosophy from Texas Christian University before attending law school. While in law school she won the 2020 Thacher Intramural Trial Advocacy Competition, joined the George Mason Moot Court Nationals team, and will serve as the Student Bar Association President in 2021-2022. Lauren is interning for the Honorable Noel Johnson at the D.C. Superior Court, and her student comment will be published in an upcoming NSLJ volume.
Sydney Dominguez, Senior Research Editor
Sydney is a third-year student at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. She graduated from Christendom College with a B.A. in Mathematics and before coming to law school, she taught exchange students from Sierra Leone and Nigeria at a military boarding school. Sydney currently serves as the president of Scalia Law’s chapter of the Federalist Society.
Austin Huppert, Notes Editor
Austin Huppert is a Notes Editor for the National Security Law Journal. He is a third-year law student at George Mason University. Austin graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Science, Technology, and Law (STL). He has worked as an intern at Wenderoth, Lind & Ponack, and as a research assistant for Professor J.W. Verret. This summer he plans to intern at InSight Law. In Austin’s free time he enjoys going golfing and spending time with friends.
Noah Teixeira, Notes Editor
Noah Teixeira is a Notes Editor for the National Security Law Journal with a B.S. in Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno. Noah served as the President of his undergraduate institution and after graduation went on to work at the Nevada Legislature. He currently works for a Financial Services law firm in the District of Columbia. Noah enjoys running, podcasts, and golf.
Kyle Elzey, Articles Selection Editor
Kyle is a second-year, part-time student at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. Kyle graduated from Salisbury University in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science and served for eight years in the Army National Guard as an all-source intelligence analyst. Since 2012, he has worked in a civilian capacity supporting United States Cyber Command, the Joint Staff J6, and Army Cyber Command as a cyber operations planner and policy analyst. Currently, Kyle works for the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense where he supports the development and implementation of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification.
