National Security Law Journal brings former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey to Mason Law to speak on the NSA, wiretapping, and PRISM

The National Security Law Journal at George Mason University School of Law is hosting its spring symposium today, Wednesday, March 26, 2014, featuring a keynote address by former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, who will speak on the NSA, wiretapping, and the data mining program known as PRISM. The event will be held in the Founders Hall auditorium on the Arlington Campus of George Mason University, 3301 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22201. (View a map.)

Drone Wars Event on 11/6

Join us tonight, Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the Arlington Campus of George Mason University for Drone Wars: Challenges and Solutions, a panel discussion on a framework for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles under the law of armed conflict.

The opening reception will begin at 6:00 PM. At 6:30 PM, a drone pilot with the U.S. Air Force will give a brief presentation on how drones are operated, followed by the panel discussion and a post-panel networking reception with coffee and dessert.

Drone Wars Panelists Announced

On the evening of Wednesday 11/6, the National Security Law Journal will host Drone Wars: Challenges and Solutions, a panel discussion on a framework for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles under the law of armed conflict. Panelists include:

  • Dr. James Jay Carafano, Vice President, Foreign and Defense Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation
  • Scott Shane, a journalist for The New York Times, reporting principally on the intelligence community
  • Tara McKelvey, a feature writer for BBC News and the author of Monstering: Inside America’s Policy of Secret Interrogations and Torture in the Terror War
